ZadeTo be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to main Doomfist. The abilities are extremely difficult to master, and without a strong gamesense and years of practice most of his abilities will go not be used effectively by the typical playes. There’s also Doomfist’s liking of combat, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from the story “The Tortoise and The Haire”, for instance. The fans main this hero; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the timing and precision in his abilities, to realise that they’re abilities in Overwatch- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Doomfist truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Doomfist’s existential catchphrase “Meteor Strike” which itself is a cryptic reference to the asteroid impact 75 million years ago that wiped out the dinosaurs, just like he wipes out his enemies.2023-03-13 03:11:53
