He began cultivating his own shooting skills by creating and using a makeshift court in his bedroom, using nothing but a crumpled piece of paper and his laundry basket. She saw the curiosity in his eyes, so she beckoned over to him. He approached her cautiously, and she said nothing. Instead of speaking, she handed him the ball and motioned towards the basket. He began shooting, and repeatedly missing. She eventually picked up the ball, and showed him how to improve his form. The curvature of the wrist, the elevation of the shooting arm, and the timing of the jump when shooting were skills she instilled within him in a short demonstration. He was immediately placed on his high-school team, and they went on to defeat every single team they faced and won multiple state-division championships, with the boy being the MVP of every match.
