Dr_ThisguyAsinine is the reason I became a guitarist. Saw him play this live in '88, and it blew my mind. He opened for Van Halen that night, and we (I was with my girlfriend at the time, now my wife) didn't even know who he was (and honestly, didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ at the time), but as soon as the opening chords to "Incel and Proud" started, we were stunned. You gotta understand, this was before Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and all that, so we didn't know what the ♥♥♥♥ we were witnessing. Needless to say, this was the best concert I ever went to, and I doubt it'll ever be topped (we didn't even stay for Van Halen lmao). It was made infinitely more impactful, because when I woke up the next morning, hungover as hell from the night before, I learned that my father had passed away - he had been diagnosed with lung cancer six months prior, and lost the battle that morning. This song always reminds me of him. RIP. Thank you, Asinine. And... rock on.2023-01-09 15:34:02
