fnlou88Hail Arisen! So, just a quick update on DD2 Lydia - She's currently a Level 72 Master Archer. She's equipped with the Heavenly Shot skill, which she uses appropriately, but I've decided to replace her incendiary and explosive shot skills with others. The reason being that those skills require anyone hiring her to furnish her with the appropriate arrows, and I'm assuming they're not doing so, because she's been coming back with gifts and NO ratings - quite the insult! If they'd given her the proper arrows, they'd have been pleased, but anyway. We'll see how she's rated going forward. Let me know your opinion if you hire her, K?2024-05-03 20:06:40

fnlou88Hail Arisen! DD2 Lydia is now Level 40 and a maxed Archer. Most of her gear is upgraded to tier 3 as well. Also, just as a PSA: Pawns in DD2, unlike their DDDA counterparts, will actually utilize the debilitating arrows given to them. Two of Lydia's advanced Archer Skills are using the upgraded tarring and explosive arrows, and if you equip her with some in your playthrough, she WILL use them appropriately to great effect. They can easily be crafted from commonly found materials, or purchased from any weapons vendor. And don't worry, she won't spam/waste them either. If I have accepted your friend request and Lydia is not showing up, it's possible that you have too many "favorites" and they populate first. fnlou88PSA: Lately I've been noticing a LOT of players who are apparently using a MOD (or MODS) to alter their Stats/Levels ans/or those of their Pawn. What they might not realize is that Capcom takes that ♥♥♥♥ seriously and *they don't like it*. It can result in your Pawn being labeled "Corrupted Pawn Data" and made unhirable by other Players. If others can't rent your Pawn -> no RC & no Gifts for you. It ain't hard to Level up in DDDA. Watch some YouTube Videos and stop using Mods. It'll make the Game more fun anyway.2023-12-20 07:00:21

fnlou88Welcome Arisen. If I have accepted your friend request and you don't see Lydia in your Rift, it's likely that you need to dismiss some of the Pawns currently milling around awaiting hire. You can do that by approaching them and Right Mouse clicking. This sends them out of the Rift and allows new Pawns to emerge. You may also try searching the Rift Stone by "Friends". fnlou88PSA: Lydia has 100% protection against nearly all debilitations, and she IS one tough Lady, but she's not invincible. But, she has the Augment Tenacity, so she will survive most "Insta-kill" attacks such as those caused by Maneaters (chest monsters) for example. Just put a curative or two in her inventory before you head out and she'll heal up after any near death experience. Be Kind and don't bodybag Lydia. She's fighting for YOU Arisen!2023-11-25 16:09:04
fnlou88From Karmakazzee on GameFaqs: Letting a pawn die & sending it home in a body bag(default 3 star rating). While no one will be mad at you for allowing a pawn to die, it's not considered good form & means that you can't send them a gift, ratings, etc for using their pawn. This is quite easy to avoid.A. Save often, (at least every time you enter a new area if the game doesn't for you) This way if a pawn dies, you can just godsbane to before the death & do it over. "If you are a pawn club member & don't have a godsbane someone will be happy to give you one."B. If you didn't notice a pawn had died & have left area, or you just don't want to redo what caused the pawn to die; Go to nearest riftstone, re-hire & RELEASE the pawn with gift, ratings, etc. BEFORE you rest at an inn! fnlou88PSA: Some of Lydia's resistances are provided by her Rings (which boost basic attributes). As you may have noticed, the effects of these, while present, are not displayed properly when viewing her basic stats in the Rift. Once you hire her and bring her into your world, you can then check her "status" and the values will display properly. (You can verify this and see her true stats in the Rift by checking her equipment and then tabbing down to her Rings, where you will see the actual boosts.) Just FYI.2023-11-14 15:52:47

You can do this by approaching them and then *right* mouse clicking. This will cause them to leave the Rift, freeing up room for new Pawns to enter. You can also search the Rift Stone for "Friends". fnlou88Pawns, no matter what level, what vocation, what gear, what weapons, what skills, what augmentations, or what inclinations - DIE. It happens. The question is - how often and why? This much I can tell you: I play the game on "Hard Mode", and all three of my Pawns - Lydia, Lanuaria, and Aurelius, have all played through Bitterblack Isle alone with me from Duskmoon Tower to Daimon *without dying* before. They've also been stupid enough to get whacked by "Death" in The Garden of Ignominy (the first dungeon area of BBI) too. That's the nature of DDDA and in some sense, games in general. But, it's far more often and likely that with some proper care and feeding, any of my three should be faithful companions to you for the long haul.2023-11-03 08:45:22

If you place just one Greenwarish or similar healing consumable in her inventory, she will save it for only dire emergencies and use it after a near fatal blow to restore her own health. fnlou88I've replaced one of Lydia's Augments with Tenacity. I'll be testing to see if it improves survivability. There are certain dragon/dark bishop attacks that can insta-gib her, so hopefully this is a workaround.2023-10-21 17:52:54
