tlarson911I do like the basic materials that I made. I love the simplicity of them and it's like eye-candy. I had "OCD style" in my mind when I made them.I posted a few pictures of the new versions of the security doors. I decided to change the way they looked by adding glowing indicators showing whether locked or unlocked. And I'm working on some more decals for labeling rooms and buttons.2017-12-30 20:30:59
tlarson911Yeah, I had fun making those dev textures. Source only came with limited dev grid textures, so I decided to make my own grid textures and even added bump-maps to mine, which look much better than the regular grid textures. Maybe I'll upload my materials as a pack for others that want to use them in their maps. tlarson911Do you think I should keep the alarm system in the map or remove it? Right now I have these alarm lights placed throughout the map and the controller for the alarm is in the Admin's room (which can only be accessed by no-clipping). I haven't yet got the alarm sound added because of the size of the building and having to place several sound emitters around. So right now when the admin turns the alarm on. the lights will flash a red color. I'm not sure if the alarm feature would really be useful since I'm making this map for building things.2017-12-30 17:17:02

I enjoy making the dev maps because I find it appealing my eyes and i find them easier to focus on building projects when there's not a ton of detail distracting my mind. I like dev maps because they help with my ADD. I think those are cool ideas, I kind of chuckled about the "bar for bar fights" hehe. I've been thinking about getting into mapping lately, but I need to make more time for it since I'm working a lot lately. I recently did a little work on my Sinclair's Estate mansion map, which you can find on my workshop uploads. I'm just doing a little work at a time though. tlarson911Hmm, no wiretab at the far right? I don't really have an answer to it, but maybe you could try going into your addons directory and removing the file for wiremod. Unsubscribe first and after making sure the wiremod file is gone, re-subscribe back to Wiremod.I'm so used to manually installing stuff, compared to the workshop from when I played back in the day.
