I play Killer when my friends are not online, for challenges/dailies or for ranking up. If I want to rank up, I try to get as much hooks and kills of course. I still try to make it a fair game and don't tunnel people out of the game from the beginning. Neither did I camp. Instead, I used the Hag's POWER to make unhooking unsafer. People should know her power and how to counter it: Crouching or using flashlights. "Staying too close" must mean, I was "too close" to the hook to teleport if the trap is triggered, or in other words: I was still on the same map.
