By selecting "Geometry" shadows are removed and game framerate drops dramatically. With Z-Buffer 3D I can run around with Ultra-settings with NVIDIA 980Ti and game feels smooth. | Max Noskill | Mad Max-esque worlds are always menacing and threating. I guess they wanted to throw comedic/cartoonic elements to mix to suck more players in. Borderlands had some strengths and fun to be had on coop play, but it should have offered second playthrough (harder) as default for MP. Once you play it through, there is nothing more to gain. DLC's mostly suck. Moxxi's arena is somewhat fun with RL, but you need have some Quake-experience to appreciate that.I picked Mount & Blade-bundle by friend's suggestion from discount sales and so far it seems really good simulation/RPG/action mix. Albeit it's very indie-like (read: 2003-era) on graphics, it really tries get battle mechanics done right. Most of lore specific parts of Skyrim were swept under carpet and player actively has to search them from books, environment and NPC dialogs. Game graphical design WILL compensate a lot of game design balance shift to practical actions like dual wielding and dragon fighting. Most of Skyrim's immersion comes from gfx design.I found most irritating part of games is very few choices have permanent effect. You can actually do whatever you want on your little sandbox and rebuild it from scratch at whim. Most role-playing games try to keep solid choice-consequence line. Worst addition is FPS drop when using indoor->outdoor area transition. Script running amok? My new gfx settings? Why it happens only after getting infected. Hard to know without script profiler (which Oblivion had build-in but removed from Skyrim non-debug builds). My bet is sloppy scripting work. Use console command "completequest C05" and "setstage C06 0" to start the last quest. It's though bugged, so no point of trying to play it. Instead you can just walk through quest stages with "setstage C05 <number>" command until you reach 200 and unlock the achievement. See UESP.net for quest stage number list. My time to complete Nightmare-mode is about 25 hours and that includes all of the side missions (sewers, job board) and lots of card playing against Teegan. Game difficulty is sadly geared towards console players and stupid racing sections felt very lame. On positive side, id Tech 5 engine is fast and adapts well to low-end hardware.
