| Billy Idle | Well...like it says Cattle and Crops is early Access. Lots of "bugs", workers are dumber than rocks, maps are not quite the way I like them but playable.. However, remember when FS15 and FS17 first came out with lots of problems? Turned out to be decent games. | Robika | I bought Age of Wonders 3 and I like the game. What I don't like is the tiny interface and print so much so that I'm not playing it atm. The game is good but how they present it is lousy. I'm only part way in on the main campaign but I really find the small print annoying and so far no teleporting between cities so you've got to send stack of units on cross country march to the new front. I don't mind that really but the tiny print of the in game interface for units etc. is what turns me off to it. | Robika | The actual fighting is great and going hand to hand, throwing explosives (and destroying objects etc) is great and the shootouts are awesome. You can aim for the head for increased damage but you can't disable arms, legs etc like Fallout 1 & 2. You can make them bleed out hitpoints and give them various effects like concussions etc. The quests are well thought out and fleshed out with various ways of completion. The treasure in chests etc seems a bit random (per character level?/ area level?) and the difficulty ramps up really quick. I've maybe in exploring where I'm not supposed to :)Since you've got 4 characters to create and manage at the start of the game it creates a lot of choice which is really satisfying when they level up.The combat effects/graphics are a bit . . ..graphic . . . equals. . . awesome. | 2014-11-02 20:20:13 |
| Robika | Wasteland 2 is pretty good overall. The game design decisions are interesting as they've held onto some of the old game ideas for combat. You can use cover like XCOM:EU and guns, explosives etc are great. What I don't like or miss from Fallout series is the lack of perks. Once you gave a character a perk then it made them special or effective in some unique way which is rpg games at their heart. Wasteland 2 needs to have perks.Fallout 1 & 2 had a better grasp on random encounters and in this game you can start at point blank range in random encounters and you're screwed. So far I'd say that Fallout has better/more random encounters then Wasteland 2 and we'll see if the devs rework this. So you've got 60 levels and then 50 more paragon levels after that which isn't must really and they revamped the passive skills so all the skills that are 60+ you can't get without the Reaper expansion and we weren't sure but we think the crafting level of Gem and Blacksmith artisans were also limited to Level 10. Now Legendary weapons are drop quite regularly and we set items are found and crafted (Legendary books allow you to craft them account wide) and the biggest change is no trading gems, legendary, green items etc. so each player account has to build this stuff up individually. When I drove by the old place on my route Dave ( I guess?) had a chainsaw was rippin' up the top deck and now there is nothing but a door into empty space and long drop down.I've been playing Path of Exile which is a free download. I have the non-steam version. They've added Masters to the game and changed up the skills etc. Its quite good and although it doesn't have the cinematic effects and money of Diablo 3 I would say its probably a better game experince. The big thing about your character in POE is that instead of a skill "tree" you've got a skill map with each of the characters starting at various points on the map. Its kinda cool when the stuff I've being doing in HOMM 6 is the back drop for Legacy. | Robika | 've played M&M Legacy all day on Friday and I like it. Its definitely old school with it being turn based. Very much like M&M 6 or 7 but its got a different skill system of sorts. There are 3 classes for each of the 4 races and you can't mix them so the human fighter is different then the orc fighter and you can't mix and match. You've got a good mix of skills which you can level up and stat points as well. Skills such as fire magic etc. have novice, expert, master, grandmaster ratings that you need a trainer to find so you can keep advancing them. Also they took a page out the Heroes of Might & Magic 6 and you can level up Relic items which makes inventory that much more interesting. | 2014-02-22 17:46:26 |

In Logitech Profiler, the only setting I use is the "Combined pedals".You will also need to enable the use of a Gamepad/Steering wheel in the in game options.Overall effects strength and spring is set to 60%, and Damper is set to 80%, but I'm not sure if these settings are in effect when playing FS2013.After I have set this, I set my Move forward and Move Backward key to "Axis 6" when using the in game options. To do this, simply press the accelerator pedal when prompted to choose a button or axis for said movement. I do not use any wheel axis to look around, instead I use the mouse for this.All other binds are done in game. I use my shifter for lowering and rising the lifters at the back of the tractor, and the Enter button on the wheel is used to turn the machines on or off, up arrow to turn the headlights on, Circle key to attach equipment. | Robika | he had 40 hitpoints and 20 something attack and counterattack so I'd heal him and he'd counter attack the hell out of everything that came around him. Was a sweet sweet deal when I was out numbered by level 1 army of 11 units. Heal and use Astral Energy to replenish Stamina and you can make a great unit turn the tide of battle.I've also lost more then a few battles when I ran out of Stamina. There are "neutral" areas that must be conquered if you want massive benefits but I found that at the start . .. .its suicide to stir things up. Grab shards with towns or one shot outposts and harvest them (build them in the queue of the nearest city if outpost) and you'll find your mana problems go away. | Robika | I posted a couple pictures of Dark Souls:Prepare to Die Edition .. . .. I downloaded it last night :)It took a lot to actually upload the screen pics. .. .had to redo it several times to get them to upload on my profile.The game itself is pretty merciless. . .I started a warrior and the fighting is pretty involved. You can parry, repriose etc., select current target so it does make for quite the melee engagement. Killing gets you "souls" and they're spent on stat points (leveling up) and equipment from a merchant. Unfortunately I accidently clicked on the merchant and started fighting him. Well - even after he killed me the first time. .. .we were still mortal enemies when I returned so I threw sticky burning oil in his face and slashed him up. Now I've got his sword but can't buy bows or other equipment anymore. I hope I'll meet another merchant soon and promise not to stick him/her in the eye with my Battle Axe. | 2012-11-10 15:58:17 |
