They took part in bundles and sales generating additional revenue. At least part of that money got invested into the game. You forget the prototype was built before so they used additional funds too. MindestensIf so, Wasteland released 26 years ago. cRPGs changed in that time a lot. Well, most. There's a reason why I didn't mention Legend of Grimrock as great at providing highly personalized characters with different roles but other titles. Additionaly, I'm not sure if anyone would bring Bound by Flames as such example too. Comparing something to something bad is really just lowering the bar from expecting most basic level of competence to something way worse. I don't want to play games simply better at something than whatever-bad-example-of-game.If you compare about 20 of well-thought companions in Baldur's Gate 2, ~10 in Fallout 2, 6 in Planescape: Torment, and 4 in Fallout at their respective releases, just two in newest Divinity with gameplay described as 60-100 hours long seems weak. Furthermore, they asked for more money during Kickstarter campaign to include them. MindestensIf you actually read my post instead of being rude (yet again), you'd see what I actually wrote: That there are just two characters with combat roles having something more than that. Henchmen are just swords to hire, they have no backstory, no subplot, the interactions with other characters are none. In cRPGs parties consisting of characters with some personality and different roles is just more fun, especially if they engage in interactions with each other. At release you have melee damage dealer using 2-handed swords and magic user (no idea if it's offensive/defensive/supportive magic mostly). I'm sure you can think of more than that: melee damage taker, some other melee damage dealer like thief or something among the lines, healer, ranged weapon specialist like archer... If you want to have these archetypic roles in your party, if you didn't start with them, there will be no story attached to them. Here's the parameters:1 teamkill = 1 tk point.15 team wounds = 1 tk point5 tk points = 6 hour ban3 consecutive teamkills = 6 hour ban15 zombie kills = removes 1 tk pointNOTE: these parameters may change depending on the level of strictness required to effectively eliminate intentional teamkillers. For added security, however, the tk points are permanently saved in the server database. Disconnecting and reconnecting will not reset your tk points! IP addresses are also being manually tracked for repeat offenders that attempt to evade their ban with alternate Steam accounts.
