However, if Walter had fully let go of his pride, he could have had a better outcome for himself and his family. If he had just accepted the job from Elliot, then perhaps he could have reestablished a presence in the business he helped establish, rekindled his friendship with his former friend, paid for his cancer treatment, acquired a higher and LEGAL salary at Gray Matter Technology, and died maybe a few years later with the respect of his family.
